ways to healing

Ways to healing

Healthy life is key to happiness and peaceful life. With present day life that is full of stress and busy schedule, healthy life is a dream difficult to maintain for many of us. Also healing cost is enormous than ever before. More and more modern medicine is advancing and costing more and more. Further, health insurance is always political agenda for politicians in most of the countries and more evident in country like United States. Every now and then health related issues are discussed in media and circle of educated group. Healing could be less expansive on pockets if we concern other alternatives of healing other than modern medicine such as homeopathy, naturopathy, etc. Therefore, I am would like to compare the issues of both modern medicine versus natural therapy using cost of both treatment, technology of both treatment, and lastly side effects caused by modern medicine and herbal medicine. Further, would like to suggest to chose best in between of them depending on the seriousness of the disease.

We humans have come a long way since we started living in settlements some thousands years ago. Similarly, healing have had developed into different shape than it was during olden period. No one had ever imagined that one can have open heart surgery thousand years ago. Now, open heart surgery is common news for children living in twenty first century. Modern medicine must be credited with respect for advancing in its field exponentially. It has developed vaccination for diseases such as common cold, tetanus, tuberculosis, small pox, chicken pox, and so on that were epidemic once. These disease are no more life threatening due to vaccination. Moreover, vaccination for modern days disease such Hepatitis are available now and work on development of vaccination for infectious disease like HIV/AIDS is undergoing. More and more advancement are reported every now and then about incurable conditions of cancers. Modern medicine has developed several diagnostic tools and technology to treat life threatening diseases.

Thousand years ago when our ancestors suffer from any kind of sickness they take refuge in nature. Nature was the only savor for them. They healed by using plants, soils everything that could be available to them in nature. That not only helped them to cure but prevent them from further sickness by increasing their immunity. Though this is a century old methodology very little advancement has been reported in this field. Also, very little amount of time and money is invested on this sector by government and other educational institution such as university or hospitals. Despite this therapy is equally accepted in society for the treatment and cure. This therapy is more accredited in communities who are closer to nature and earth. Farmers working in farms and field are very common example of service holder of natural therapy. They treat common ailments such as small cuts, wounds, or insect bites through the use of plants readily available around the surroundings. Natural therapy is not just limited to the use of herbs. It employs others mediums such as stone, mud, water etc. It also include other alternative treatments such as yoga therapy, meditation etc. For the purpose of this paper, I would like to focus only on herbal therapy and exclude other forms of alternative medicine.

With advancement in the technologies pertaining to laboratory test and diagnostic tools, diagnosis of illness is more accurate in present day than ever before. Blood samples are taken from the sick person and several tests is carried out through that sample for first level screening. In some cases such as cancer blood samples are not adequate enough to draw conclusion. Therefore, further samples are taken from different parts of body and observed for further detection. Not only that, in situations like burning where a portion of skin especially face, a person is treated using plastic surgery. This methodology employs the use of skin from other muscular parts like thigh region or arm region. There are numerous such advancements in modern medicine which this paper is not appropriate to describe.

Technology wise, herbal medicine is tiny in front of modern medicine. It neither employs any advance technology such as x-rays, CT scan for detection of disease and illness nor have the technology to examine blood, urine, or any other samples for diagnosis.

We hear a lot about side effects of chemical drugs while treating some disease. A cancer patient going through chemotherapy is a very good example. Such patients are reported of acute hair loss to complete hair loss as a result of drugs used for treating the cancer. Use of drugs prepared from plant extracts are not reported of bringing such a dramatic changes in patient while going through the treatment. When herbal extracts are used they are either prepared using simple process such as manual grinding, natural air drying. This methodology donot integrates any kind of chemical treatment. Therefore, this method is very safe from the side effects of point of view. Therefore, these herbal extracts are not reported of changing the property and causing any harm to the patient.

Cost required for healing could range from a penny to thousands of dollars (http://www.ehow.com/about_5591219_average-cost-chemotherapy.html).Cost is important factor of healing any ailments and it varies from one form to other. It is general understanding that modern medicine is more expansive than herbal medicine. That has been cited by many researcher as the reason for use of herbal medicine in economically poor countries of Asia and Africa. On the basis of market price study, it shows a herbal medicine might cost only a 10-50 USD dollar (http://www.myzenhealth.com/) while a modern cost starts in the similar range though it get more with follow up course and so on. For instance, one might have to spend about $300-800 for 8-week traditional chemotherapy of cancer and it is predicted to go up with increase in number of days require for treatment. Also, modern medicine are always completed with high price diagnostic tests such as blood test, urine test, X-rays, CT scan and MRI in some cases.

Healthy living is not possible without healing of disease in our lives. We can heal ourselves in numerous ways. One can either go to modern hospitals for modern health care or visit herbal health practitioner for herbal medicine. Both are meant to serve the human mankind and aid in disease free condition. Modern medicine employs descriptive process from diagnosis to end treatment and complemented with several side effect as in case of cancer. Also, cost is an important factor while considering modern medicine at this economic age. We want to be economical as well as healthy. Employing herbal medicine for general treatment are safer in comparison to modern medicine as most of the ingredients are natural and do not have complicated side effect from herbal medicine most of the time. Also, herbal medicine save money while curing the disease. Therefore, herbal medicine would be best option for general treatment of common day disease.
