ways to healing

Ways to healing

Healthy life is key to happiness and peaceful life. With present day life that is full of stress and busy schedule, healthy life is a dream difficult to maintain for many of us. Also healing cost is enormous than ever before. More and more modern medicine is advancing and costing more and more. Further, health insurance is always political agenda for politicians in most of the countries and more evident in country like United States. Every now and then health related issues are discussed in media and circle of educated group. Healing could be less expansive on pockets if we concern other alternatives of healing other than modern medicine such as homeopathy, naturopathy, etc. Therefore, I am would like to compare the issues of both modern medicine versus natural therapy using cost of both treatment, technology of both treatment, and lastly side effects caused by modern medicine and herbal medicine. Further, would like to suggest to chose best in between of them depending on the seriousness of the disease.

We humans have come a long way since we started living in settlements some thousands years ago. Similarly, healing have had developed into different shape than it was during olden period. No one had ever imagined that one can have open heart surgery thousand years ago. Now, open heart surgery is common news for children living in twenty first century. Modern medicine must be credited with respect for advancing in its field exponentially. It has developed vaccination for diseases such as common cold, tetanus, tuberculosis, small pox, chicken pox, and so on that were epidemic once. These disease are no more life threatening due to vaccination. Moreover, vaccination for modern days disease such Hepatitis are available now and work on development of vaccination for infectious disease like HIV/AIDS is undergoing. More and more advancement are reported every now and then about incurable conditions of cancers. Modern medicine has developed several diagnostic tools and technology to treat life threatening diseases.

Thousand years ago when our ancestors suffer from any kind of sickness they take refuge in nature. Nature was the only savor for them. They healed by using plants, soils everything that could be available to them in nature. That not only helped them to cure but prevent them from further sickness by increasing their immunity. Though this is a century old methodology very little advancement has been reported in this field. Also, very little amount of time and money is invested on this sector by government and other educational institution such as university or hospitals. Despite this therapy is equally accepted in society for the treatment and cure. This therapy is more accredited in communities who are closer to nature and earth. Farmers working in farms and field are very common example of service holder of natural therapy. They treat common ailments such as small cuts, wounds, or insect bites through the use of plants readily available around the surroundings. Natural therapy is not just limited to the use of herbs. It employs others mediums such as stone, mud, water etc. It also include other alternative treatments such as yoga therapy, meditation etc. For the purpose of this paper, I would like to focus only on herbal therapy and exclude other forms of alternative medicine.

With advancement in the technologies pertaining to laboratory test and diagnostic tools, diagnosis of illness is more accurate in present day than ever before. Blood samples are taken from the sick person and several tests is carried out through that sample for first level screening. In some cases such as cancer blood samples are not adequate enough to draw conclusion. Therefore, further samples are taken from different parts of body and observed for further detection. Not only that, in situations like burning where a portion of skin especially face, a person is treated using plastic surgery. This methodology employs the use of skin from other muscular parts like thigh region or arm region. There are numerous such advancements in modern medicine which this paper is not appropriate to describe.

Technology wise, herbal medicine is tiny in front of modern medicine. It neither employs any advance technology such as x-rays, CT scan for detection of disease and illness nor have the technology to examine blood, urine, or any other samples for diagnosis.

We hear a lot about side effects of chemical drugs while treating some disease. A cancer patient going through chemotherapy is a very good example. Such patients are reported of acute hair loss to complete hair loss as a result of drugs used for treating the cancer. Use of drugs prepared from plant extracts are not reported of bringing such a dramatic changes in patient while going through the treatment. When herbal extracts are used they are either prepared using simple process such as manual grinding, natural air drying. This methodology donot integrates any kind of chemical treatment. Therefore, this method is very safe from the side effects of point of view. Therefore, these herbal extracts are not reported of changing the property and causing any harm to the patient.

Cost required for healing could range from a penny to thousands of dollars (http://www.ehow.com/about_5591219_average-cost-chemotherapy.html).Cost is important factor of healing any ailments and it varies from one form to other. It is general understanding that modern medicine is more expansive than herbal medicine. That has been cited by many researcher as the reason for use of herbal medicine in economically poor countries of Asia and Africa. On the basis of market price study, it shows a herbal medicine might cost only a 10-50 USD dollar (http://www.myzenhealth.com/) while a modern cost starts in the similar range though it get more with follow up course and so on. For instance, one might have to spend about $300-800 for 8-week traditional chemotherapy of cancer and it is predicted to go up with increase in number of days require for treatment. Also, modern medicine are always completed with high price diagnostic tests such as blood test, urine test, X-rays, CT scan and MRI in some cases.

Healthy living is not possible without healing of disease in our lives. We can heal ourselves in numerous ways. One can either go to modern hospitals for modern health care or visit herbal health practitioner for herbal medicine. Both are meant to serve the human mankind and aid in disease free condition. Modern medicine employs descriptive process from diagnosis to end treatment and complemented with several side effect as in case of cancer. Also, cost is an important factor while considering modern medicine at this economic age. We want to be economical as well as healthy. Employing herbal medicine for general treatment are safer in comparison to modern medicine as most of the ingredients are natural and do not have complicated side effect from herbal medicine most of the time. Also, herbal medicine save money while curing the disease. Therefore, herbal medicine would be best option for general treatment of common day disease.

Best ways to learn second language

Best ways to learn second language

Introduction

Learning language is a kind of an adventure trip where you explore different dimensions of second language. The journey of learning second language will widen your knowledge and capacity to receive. It is frustrating at times when it limits your expression and feelings due to your inability to speak language spoken in foreign language. In my opinion, this is almost like illiterate in this modern world of high technology as you are unable to read and write. Therefore, learning second language is very important at this age of globalization where world is getting smaller and smaller. There could be many ways to learn second language; living with native speaker family, befriending native speaker, dinning in restaurants serving more native speaker, keeping the list of must to learn words, reading books, going to theaters and movies, etc. one can have more than earlier mentioned to do list for learning second language. But I am sure this “my to-do list” would be good enough to learn any second language.

Living with native speaker

In my opinion sharing living with native speaker of second language is a very good way of learning new language. Sharing foods, lives at daily basis helps you to learn quickly. By living with native speaker, your chance of knowing new words increases and so is, the chances of relating the new words. Your chances of forgetting the words and its meaning would be lesser if the words are learnt in this way. When you are living with native speaker you will learn the words pertaining to culture and festivals of second language. While I was in high school I participated in cultural exchange program with American students. In this program, all the participating students shared room with American students. This helped me learning English as well as American culture. I learnt about Thanksgiving day, Hallwoon nights and the American students learnt about our festival and customs. My personal experience of sharing lives with native speaker helps a lot in learning new language. That is one reason for me to advocate about this method for learning.

Reading books and magazine, and watching movies and listening songs

Reading books is another best ways of learning second language. This is a self learning method and completely depends on the dedication of the learner. Because reading is also about habit formation. Reading helps you learning formal form of second language. As, all the written materials are proof-read and edited before publication. This will help you learning the sentence formation in that language and basics of grammar. Reading will also increase you learning and help you in your writing if you want to make career by writing in that language. Good way of reading would be trying to read in as many field as you could. You can read from literature, science and fiction, short stories, articles etc. you can make a habit of reading newspaper every morning. Reading newspaper will informed you about the society and culture and you will be able to learn more about language. As I am in process of learning English language I make sure I read newspaper daily. I also read all kinds of materials written in English. It could be anything fashion magazine sometimes and sometimes it’s a novel. In addition to reading, watching movies and documentaries also helps you learn second language quickly. It is been said that human perceive and receive more information if the information is delivered in audio-visual medium. Watching movies are very good mediums of audio-visuals. And if the movies are tailored to spellbound the audience your chances of learning language is more. Similarly, music is good way to learn more about any language. My friends could relate to music while learning English language. Though, for me it was not a good help.

Friendship with native speaker

We are social animal and need companion. It would be very difficult to lead life without friends. We make friends wherever we go and in all stages of life. Nothing can be more fun than making friends who can speak the language you want speak and learnt. You will enjoy learning new language from new friend and you will not feel like bearing the burden of learning new language. It is a kind of learning while having fun. While making friends you must make sure that you stick to speaking the second language. Sometimes, our friends turns out to be multi-linguistic and would switch to and fro from one language to another depending on the ease of your language. In such case, strict practices of speaking in second language will only help to learn otherwise you may not be able to benefit from the friendship. Otherwise, you could be benefited from this friendship in many ways. You can enjoy eating out, go for touring around the city, and meet more native speaker.

Conclusion

At the end of the day, we can say learning second language could be more fun than one could anticipate. I am confident that the ways; living with native speaker, reading books, and friendship with native speaker will definitely help you learn second language. Once you learn second language. It is a whole lot of different world and knowledge. Learning second language help you travel to new place and you can generate income for yourself if you wish to. You could be interpreter for people who can speak that language. Learning new language helped you have new friends and helped you know more about other people’s culture and language.

Lemkha

LEMKHA

Introduction

Everything in this world has “le” in its own way. “Le”means beautiful in Tibetian language which has many connotations in different circumstances. The general meaning of “Le” is having qualities that give great pleasure or satisfaction to see, hear, think about, etc; delighting the sense or mind; beautiful speech or beautiful speech. Beauty also, is said lies in the eyes of beholder and I believe it to be so true. Something that is very beautiful to me may not be beautiful to my friend and vice versa, something that is beautiful to my friend may not be beautiful to me. Therefore, “Le” mean different to different peoples. Some would consider physical attributes as the measure of beauty while some would consider inner beauty as more important for being beautiful. Personally, I would give equal weight to physical attractiveness as well as internal charmness for being beautiful. Moreover, to me beautiful is not just being beautiful rather it is more than that for me, it is my first pet named Lemkha derived from Le. It is a dog which is not only beautiful in appearance but is also a great companion for me.

Physical charm

Many consider physical attractiveness as being beautiful. I think that is the whole idea about organizing beauty pageant. The organizer selects the one that is most attractive from the given criteria such as height, smile, photogenic etc. The contestants participating are required to concentrate on features like best smile, best photogenic, and so on. This kind of contest encourage the women to look attractive by highlighting good features of their body. This helps women look great and builds confidence in them to portray themselves as beautiful. Every year, beautiful women from all over the world participate in these kind of contests and one among them is awarded with titles such as Miss Universe, Miss world, Miss United States, and so on. Similarly, many women and men are involved in profession of glamour for their livelihood. Such men and women mostly required to look great and pretty all the time and preserve the attractiveness. We enjoy watching them on screen or magazine because they look beautiful.

Inner beauty

Beyond physical beauty, lies the inner beauty which is reflected in the form of good actions done by someone who may be physically attractive or may not be physically attractive. Mother Tersa and Florence Nightingale are the names I always have in my mind for inner beauty. They are beautiful by their appearance as well as by their good actions. They have shown the world the meaning of good action. They taught us how to show love to ones who are neglected by others and living in poverty. Florence Nightingale healed all those soldiers injured in war. She became the ideal of serving other without expecting anything in return. Similarly, Mother Tersa loved everybody who came in her shelter. She , leaving behind a luxurious life western of the world, served the poor children living in eastern world. Not just them, there are many other people in our society who are more beautiful because of their good actions. They may not be famous like Mother Tersa or Florence Nightingale but still close to our hearts such as somebody from family, relatives or friends. Therefore, inner beauty needs to be appreciated more and valued more.

Natural beauty

We are living in best planet of this universe because it is the most beautiful planet among all as it has life in it. Several things make our planet beautiful and its geographical structure in one among them. Whoever looks at earth from outside, say universe, can see blue water, green plants, and different colors of land masses. Tall mountains, with long stretch of land masses makes it look more prettier. In addition, we have different beautiful places all over the earth to enjoy the beauty. Some of which I would want to go are Switzerland, London, Paris, Australia, et c. I wish to visit them that do not mean that rest of the countries are not beautiful but these countries are different from the places I have lived so far. The country I am from is very renowned for natural bounty and landscape. Still, I wish to feel the difference of other forms of beauty.

Lemkha

However, Lemkha is very important to me. Not just because he is beautiful but he is a great companion for me. I have a great memory of him since he came to my life. My father brought him for me from place called Sikkim of India, which was known for having great collection of dogs. My father named him “Lemkha” because he said he was the most beautiful among all. When I saw him for the first time he was so little I did not imagine that he would be big like other dog. When my dad bought it he was only 5-day old. He was hardly big enough and can easily fit into my daddy’s palm. For couple of days, the palm was his new home and he was fed on the palm. Eventually, he grew bigger and bigger and take the current day size and shape. When he was little was scared of so many things such as loud noises, water, and sometimes even stranger. Once, I had a very funny incident with him. He was not that big, I happened to wear traditional Indian dress for the function in my school. As soon as he saw me in that dress he barked at me for sometimes. I had to called his name to calm him down. As soon as I call his name he came close to me and looked me top to bottom. Loud noise such as fire crackers or small bombardment done for celebrations always scared him to death and he would try to hide himself under bed or something whenever he heard that. It is my duty to take him out at least two times a day and he enjoyed it a lot going out more than two times which happened during my school breaks. I loved when I am on the street and everybody calls him by his name. I felt proud to have a dog that everybody like so much. Though he is only a dog, he makes me smile and happy. I loved him and enjoy how happy I feel how he makes me laugh. He knows nothing about looking beautiful and neither he has ever tried to look that way. Still, he is the most affectionate for me. I like the fact that he do not have to worry about doing good to somebody or other. Still, he has done great good deed to me by being my best companion of my childhood. I t would not be wise of me to categorize him by classifying him into physical attraction or inner beauty or natural beauty. He is a charm in himself and posses both attributes of physical attraction and inner beauty.

Conclusion

Thus, beauty stands different for different people. Though, everything contains the gravity to attract some whether it could be due to its physical qualities or internal gravitation from internal charm. Every object do make people look differently and different measure attraction at different scale. For me, beauty is not just skin deep it deeper than it. It is a lifelong memory of my dog, Lemkha for me. He is a very good example of my perception of Le. Whenever, I have to conceive anything beautiful I visualize him at first and explore further for other definitions. It is the pleasurable memory that I cherished most because of my affection to Lemkha and his affection to me.

love is more dare and courage than loving

today at my work, i was wondering about this love and suddenly came up with this line
"love is more dare and courage than loving".
at first i thought to put this on my facebook status but didnot dare to do so. because i do not want to generate unneccessary comments on my status. i know once i put this on my facebook status i will encounter reactive responses from my friends and relatives. I donot want to experience that. therefore, i prefer to document this feeling about love in this blog
i can say this because i am experiencing this in my personal life. love of my life is dearest to me and is everything to me. but still, there are some of the daring steps to be taken in my life. they are letting our family members know about our love and our decision to lead life together. at present, i am in situation we have not share about our love to our family members.
why, because we are not courageous enough to share this fact with them. we feel insecure to do so.

My friends @america

I donot ever thought I would be racist lik this. But now I am kind of sure that I am a 100 % racist. One might be wondering why I am saying so.

All my friends are from my community and my race. I donot know one single american fellow after living in America for about one year.
Believe me, it is not just me that I am so orthodox racist. Everybody who migrated to America for different reasons end up being racist. I find chinese being in chinese circle, indian being in indian circle, nepali being in nepali circle. We are so comfortable with each own race and community, we end up practicing more culture in American than in own home country.
Many of my fellow from same race believed that they would improve their english after living in America for a while. After living in America for a year, they realized that this was almost next to impractical. Why? reason is very simple. We dnot do anything that will add up to improve our english. what I realize is that, it may be more otherway round that is nepali will improve.
sounds funny. yeah it is but its alo a fact.
becuase, we are so much into our homogenous community. what we do is nepali and nothing is american in shape and size.
May be this is one of the illusion of american life.

Ilusion of American life

I chose this medium to express myself and my American version of life in America because I find this the most convenient.

Its been a year I am living in a city of America and leading a strange life. I am sure whatever I have experienced is nothing stranger to any other Nepali gal or guy coming to America. Whatever be the face of visa while entering into America, fate of all nepali gal or guy is more or less same. Everybody go through the similar kind of situation and circumstance with some degree's of extremes. Whether you enter America as student, DV winner, tourist or illegally in some cases. Everybody end up in similar kind of fate.
